Carols by the Beach 2011
Carols by the Beach 2010 was a fantastic time of carol singing and sharing the story of Jesus' birth with the community. As always with Carols we are trying to make it bigger and better each year. This year the event will run from 3.30pm to 8.30pm on Saturday 10 December 2011 on the Plimmerton School field.
And as usual the event will be free for all those attending. Please bring your picnic blankets and come and make an evening of the Carols by the Beach. There will be stands where you can purchase sausages and other items for dinner however you can also make use of the local fish and chippy, pizzaria and cafes in Plimmerton.
There will be bouncy castles, merry go round rides, miniature trains and face painting available for the children - these will be free! A full programme will be published ahead of the event, detailing the time slots for each of our guest artists and activities. The Carols will go ahead rain or shine as we will use the Plimmerton School Hall as our back up venue.
We look forward to seeing you at Carols by the Beach 2011!
Esther Melody to visit St. B's!
Esther Melody brings "Church Rocks" to St B's on Sunday 28 August at 10.00am. There will be something for those of all ages with a focus on youth and children. Morning tea provided. All welcome.
Carols by the Beach was a fantastic time of carol singing and sharing the story of Jesus' birth with the community.
As always with Carols we are trying to make it bigger and better each year. The carols organising committee are really pleased to announce that New Zealand music award winning artist Julia Grace will be singing at Carols By The Beach in December. Julia has a real heart for community and her down to earth, acoustic tinged musical style will fit well with the event. We see Julia’s attendance at the event as a real gift and blessing for the community.
And as usual the event will be free for all those attending. Please bring you picnic blankets and come and make an evening of the Carols by the Beach. Mainly Music Christmas
Mainly Music at St Barnabas Church, in Porirua, had a fabulous send off this year with Robyn pulling out all her artistic stops and giving us an amazing painting!
She not only did it for the first session but then reset and did it again for the second session.
All those that attended got to see and hear how Jesus was born and all the events surrounding it.
Mainly Music at the church has had a fabulous 3 terms and this was an amazing way to finish.
Thanks to all the team, those upfront and behind the scenes we appreciate what you do so much!
Carols by the Beach 2009
Carols by the Beach, Family Fun Night, Plimmerton Primary School on School Road, 5th of December 2009.
At 5pm on Saturday 5th of December, Carols by the Beach was an occasion not to be missed. Following on from the success of last years Carols event, a dedicated team have put together another fantastic carols evening for young families at PlimmertonSchool.
“It was amazing to see approximately 1000 people turn up to Carols by the Beach” Jono Hesp, one of the organising team said. "The best comment all night was, 'we could hear this music from McDonalds and just had to come and find it'".
For photos of the event please click here, or view the video above. You can also find photos on facebook by searching for St Barnabas or Plimmerton Presbyterian.
We look forward to seeing you all again next year.
Ella's Song - God Made
Ella, one of our young people at St Barnabas, recently prayed and asked God for a song and this is what he gave her, God Made.
FilmFest 2009
Our Bonfire Youth Group triumphed again at the 2009 FilmFest beating all comers for the coveted Best Movie Award. See our entry below.
Soul Action Day
The Soul Action Day held at the Anchor Church in Whitby was an awesome success. We made 150 portions of food, equating to about 50 family size meals, half going to each freezer ministry, thanks Rebecca for leading the team. We went to Aotea College and had a team do a serious tidy up around E Block and we had another team visit a retirement home looking to build an ongoing relationship there. It was very exciting all around. Below are some pictures and video from the day.
Our Easter Camp 09 film group was led by our very own Mike Gamble who attends the evening service. Here is the video that the film group put together for Easter Camp. You can also find more photos of Easter Camp at www.jymc.org.nz Enjoy...
